Jean-Louis Danant opened his gallery avenue Matignon in 1996, to show the furniture of mid 20th century creators, from the 1930’s to the 1980’s.
He is showing classical furniture and objects of art, refined know-how of the French decorators and designers such as Gilbert Poillerat, Jacques Adnet, André Arbus, Jean Royère, Jean Pascaud and Jules Leleu, Félix Agostini, Jean Mayodon and Georges Jouve and such as the Italian Design from the 50’s to the 80’s with Max Ingrand for Fontana Arte, Gio Ponti, Gabriella Crespi, Riccardo Scarpa, Ettore Sottsass and Alessandro Mendini. The gallery is also exhibiting modernist pieces by Michel Boyer, Paul Evans, Sylvain Dubuisson, Ado Chale and Verner Panton.
The gallery is parallelly organizing specific sculptors and sculpted furniture, as by André Deluol, Rosette Bir, Jean-Pierre Formica, Victor Roman, Fred Brouard, Igor Ustinov, Emile Gilioli, Viliano Tarabella, Robert Couturier, Tloupas Philolaos, Manuel Simon and Jonathan Knight.
